Tents of Hope is a one-year campaign in which people respond as communities to the crisis in Darfur, Sudan by assisting, and establishing relationships with the people of Sudan. Congregations, schools, and freedom, humanity, and peace to create awareness about Darfur and to raise funds for by creating tents that are both unique works of art and focal points for learning about, civic groups in over 195 cities in nine countries are painting tents with images of hope, love,

humanitarian relief.

The project culminated November 7-9, 2008 with the “Gathering of the Tents” on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The Dallas tents represented our community's passion and concern for the crisis in Darfur.

Our Tents

As part of Art for Darfur in Spring, 2008, faith communities hosted the tent for an afternoon for members to decorate with messages of hope and solidarity. The brightly decorated tent was displayed at the Art for Darfur silent auction in April.

As Art for Darfur and D.A.R.F.U.R. join together this fall, the Tents of Hope movement will continue with a live-art show at a local art gallery.

A group of artists will collaborate their talents and passions to create a priceless work of art from one of our tents. Guests are invited to watch the artists as they work, while enjoying live music, food and beverages.
